Naomi
Partner, Credit and Financial Services
Naomi’s practice focuses on financial services regulation, AFSL, ACL and Banking licensing, debt and credit facilities and securitization programmes. Naomi establishes financial products and services for clients, including regulated and unregulated credit products (such as loans, mortgages, virtual accounts, credit cards, BNPL, invoice financing and hire purchase), custodial and depository services, securities and investments, financial advisory services, digital currency, remittance services, non-cash payment facilities, managed investment schemes and other services such as promissory notes, letters of credit, and debt factoring.
In Australia Naomi regularly advises on Designated Services, National Consumer Credit Protection Act, AML/CTF Act and Chapters 7 and 8 of the Corporations Act. Naomi also advises regularly on Vanuatu laws including International Banking and licensing, companies and financial services laws.
With over 12 years of experience working for top tier law firms Herbert Smith Freehills, Clifford Chance and K&L Gates in Sydney, Shanghai and Hong Kong and as General Counsel, MLRO and CRO for various ASX listed global financial services institutions and lenders, Naomi has a large client base of global banks, financial institutions, credit providers, crypto, BNPL, foreign financial service providers, private equity, FinTech’s, and payment service providers. Naomi is a key advisor on Banking, Financial Services and Credit Laws and also holds accreditations in AML/CTF and Risk Management. Naomi also manages risk advisory and regularly prepares and implements governance, risk and compliance regimes.

Monika’s practice focuses on banking and finance. Monika is an expert in leverage and acquisition finance, corporate lending and structured finance, bi-lateral and syndicated loans, real estate finance and corporate restructuring.
With over 13 years of experience working in magic circle, top tier domestic and international law firms, as well as General Counsel roles in investment banks and debt funds, Monika acts regularly for both lenders and borrowers in Australia and the UK and is able to provide pragmatic, agile legal advice whilst mitigating legal risks, with a focus on effective and efficient deal execution.

Sahar’s practice focuses on Corporate M&A, financial services regulation, AFSL and ACL licensing, insurance, securities and equity capital markets. Sahar regularly advises on the Corporations Act. Sahar has over 10 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law, expanding across a broad range of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border public and private M&A, equity capital markets, corporate governance, securities and investments and financial services. She has previously advised on large global transactions across a range of industries, including insurance, energy and resources, and advised listed and private companies on acquisition and disposal of shares and assets, initial public offerings, placements, rights issues, Australian and New Zealand financial services license requirements and obligations and general corporate advisory.

Jessica is an experienced risk advisor and an expert in providing specialist risk management advice, building governance, risk and compliance frameworks, preparing risk management plans, reports and assessments, creating risk management dashboards and risk and control registers and designing policies, processes and procedures to mitigate risk.
With over 15 years of experience working as a senior risk advisor to investment banks and major corporates, Jessica support clients with their operational and risk management requirements and ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards.

Senior AML/CTF Consultant
Bianca offers AML/CTF consulting and advisory support and works with clients to implement effective AML/CTF Programs, practices and policies. Bianca is an expert in providing independent AML/CTF audits, assessments and reviews, advice on designated services, compliance with AML/CTF laws and AUSTRAC enrolment and enquiries.
With over 8 years of experience working in major banks, credit providers and Fintechs, Bianca can support clients with understanding what AML/CTF obligations are applicable, assist with preparing and implementing an AML/CTF Program, and provide advice on KYC, ongoing customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions, identity verification and ML/TF risk assessment.
